Recap of 2010 event
Wayne County Cooperative Extension Family and Consumer Sciences partnered with the Aspire Center, Wayne County Extension Homemakers, Relay For Life, Growing Healthy Kids Coalition, Wayne County Park Association, and the Wayne County Humane Society to have a Free Fun Festival with 2nd Sunday. This extraordinary event was held at the Aspire Center on Sunday October 10, 2010 from 2 - 5 pm. Participants could walk, bike, or jog the track and visit a wide variety of stations including corn hole, hopscotch, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, jump rope, Frisbees, hula hoops, beach volleyball, crochet, and Frisbee golf. Educational information including the food Guide Pyramid, diabetes education, sun safety, and the dangers of second hand smoke were available to participants. Participants also participated in the tricycle rodeo, bike parade, PINK Walk, and dog jog. This event was the Kick-off to the Relay for Life Season. Cancer survivors spoke at the opening ceremonies and a variety of tables including Relay team registration and other information such as Free Services available to Wayne County Cancer patients were distributed. It was a wonderful bright and sunny day filled with lots of fun Physical Activity. The day ended with participants walking the Dogs from the Humane Society. This was a great day!

Event summary:
Wayne County Kentucky Extension Homemakers sponsored the Second Sunday event at Wayne County's Memorial Park. Community members played hopscotch, hula hoops that all ages enjoyed, jump rope, bicycle safety, corn hole, 5 a day bean bag toss, a fun treasure hunt for all ages, frisbees, and bubbles. The children had lots of fun.
