Recap of 2009 event
Event summary:
Monroe County Second Sunday took place in the parking lot at the new Family Wellness Center. This gave everyone a chance to take a tour of the new facility and possibly become a member on Second Sunday. The days events included a family walk, fastest kid in town race, body recall class, four square and corn toss games, and relay games like a jump rope contest, freeze dance, frisbee toss, and t-shirt relay race. Everyone had a great time enjoying themselves while engaging in physical activity. Educational booths were set up and participants got to visit them throughout the event. Door prizes donated by community partners were given out during the event. Everyone grooved to the upbeat fast music that was playing throughout Second Sunday.
Comments:
For our small town I was amazed at how many came out for Second Sunday. We had over 60 participants in Second Sunday and I feel it will grow each year we hold it.
