Recap of 2010 event

Event summary:
Get up and get moving! That was the challenge the Northern Kentucky Cooperative Extension Family and Consumer Sciences Agents gave toeveryone in the eight-county northern Kentucky area. Challenge 10-10-10 ran from September 1 to October 10, 2010. Those who completed and log 10 physical activities during the challenge, and submitted their completed report were eligible for a number or prizes.

One grand prize of an overnight stay and breakfast for two at General Butler State Park was awarded to an individual whose name was drawn at random from all who complete the challenge. Eight iPod Shuffles and eight Living Well Books were awarded with one participant drawn at random from each county.

Challenge 10-10-10 is designed to motivate people to get out, be active, and discover all the area has to offer. Individuals might choose to walk, swim, run, bike, or visit a gym. All physical activities count from active gardening to golf without a cart.

"The Cooperative Extension Service is ideally positioned to facilitate a project like 2nd Sunday that requires grassroots organization at the county level combined with statewide coordination. I am delighted that we are a key leader of this partnership that is so visibly promoting health and wellness for the Commonwealth."
