Recap of 2009 event

Event summary:
Families and individuals participated in corn hole, pedal tractor races, stroller obstacle course, ball toss, corn shelling contest, walking and hula hooping. The main excitement was a competition among the volunteer fire departments. Visitors lined up to watch the action and cheer on the team members. After two minutes the firemen were panting and smiling from transferring water from one trough to another with buckets.

Comments:
One lady came by and saw the hula hoops. She started reminiscing about her younger days. She came back later and asked if she could try it. She had a great time trying since she hadn't hula hooped for over 50 years.

"The Cooperative Extension Service is ideally positioned to facilitate a project like 2nd Sunday that requires grassroots organization at the county level combined with statewide coordination. I am delighted that we are a key leader of this partnership that is so visibly promoting health and wellness for the Commonwealth."
