Recap of 2009 event

Event summary:
The weather cooperated and we had a great event in conjunction with the gospel singing sponsored by our local festival committee. We had 114 youth and adult participants. Although we offered a variety of activities such as hula hoop contests, jump ropes, etc. most people chose to walk.

Comments:
Our best walker, a 54-year-old male, walked 2.5 miles. He commented that "this was fun and good for you too."

"The Cooperative Extension Service is ideally positioned to facilitate a project like 2nd Sunday that requires grassroots organization at the county level combined with statewide coordination. I am delighted that we are a key leader of this partnership that is so visibly promoting health and wellness for the Commonwealth."
